Darren Whitaker-Barnett

Founder, Sales and Marketing (Mdp)

Darren Whitaker-Barnett founded Locating Us Limited (LocatingUs) in 2007 and, along with Tom Peck, began development on the first product; WhosOnLocation. Today Darren’s energies are spent on growth and product improvement and he is directly responsible for new sales and managing distributor relationships.

Darren has completed the Management Development Programme through the Auckland Business School when, as part of the management team at Meridian Energy, he was responsible for a corporate sales team overseeing hundreds of millions of dollars of government and corporate energy contracts. He has had an extensive career in sales and marketing across a wide range of sectors including FMCG, IT, and Energy.

Darren has managed corporate sales teams, and has been instrumental in  driving growth at companies as diverse as Coca Cola, Recall, Computer Associates, and TransAlta. Darren is one of only a handful of people to have received the New Zealand Salesperson of the Year Award across all industries.

Victoria Armstrong

Operations (BLS; Dip PT; Dip RS)

As LocatingUs' Operations Manager, Victoria is responsible for our day-to-day-operations, as well as managing the company’s financial accounts and our customer fulfilment strategy. Victoria joined LocatingUs in 2010 with the express objective of implementing robust, scalable systems and processes to manage a global customer base. Victoria holds a BLS (Bachelor Leisure Studies) from Waikato University, as well as Diplomas in Personal Training, and Recreational Support. She is a current Director of Locatingus.

Prior to joining LocatingUs Victoria had a successful career over 10 years with the country’s two major television companies (TVNZ and Canadian owned TV3), managing and securing millions of dollars in new advertising revenues with major corporates. Victoria founded the highly successful ‘Fit2front’ media training organisation, a leading media coaching service provider  teaching CEOs of the country’s biggest companies (Air New Zealand, SPARC, Ministry of Health, NZ Post) how to front media and navigate public appearances (TV, Radio).

Tom Peck

Application Development Manager

Tom is our Head of Development and has responsibility for over-seeing all application development. Tom is a shareholder in LocatingUs has been with LocatingUs since the first line of code was written. With over ten years experience architecting and developing online web and application solutions Tom brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

Recently, Tom spent two years as Technical Lead at a successful London based digital creative agency where he managed a range of successful projects from simple movie promotional websites to complex online dating platforms servicing hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Tom keeps the LocatingUs suite of products evolving to become increasingly feature-rich while staying rock solid stable and with an intuitive user interface.

Andrew Thompson

(BSc in Computer Science) – Systems and Infrastructure

Andrew is LocatingUs' Systems Architect and managers all things server and hardware.  Andrew is responsible for systems support and brings to LocatingUs a wide range of skills in the IT space.

Andrew is an experienced ’C’ developer in the areas of operating systems, hardware drivers, net-working/wireless/USB software stacks. Strong knowledge of software design, system architecture and debugging. OS: FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris Languages: C/C++, Perl, PHP, SQL, Java, Lua SCM: CVS, Perforce, Subversion, Git.

Andrew has extensive experience in deploying fast and robust Internet services, from a single transaction right up to a load balanced multi-server solution.
